Shoe Wash

Order and queue system for a multi-branch shoe-cleaning business: a first-in, first-out wash queue, collection or delivery, loyalty, staff roles and thermal receipts printed from a tablet.

Started as a Google Apps Script and Sheets prototype, then rebuilt on Next.js 16 and Supabase when Sheets could not reliably identify signed-in staff or scale to several branches. Staff capture a drop-off in under a minute; the queue enforces wash order with an explicit rush override and tracks a three-day turnaround. Orders are collection or delivery, every fifth pair in a drop-off is free, and Postgres row-level security keeps customer data to signed-in staff, in line with POPIA. Payments go through an adapter so a card terminal can be added later. Receipts are laid out for 80 mm thermal paper and print from an Android tablet, with a text-only fallback, and the shop is supported remotely through staff on site.
